A quiet place to write

sitting in the lobby

And so I awoke to a deadline.  I had an article long overdue and an appropriately insistent editor.  Urgently I went in search of coffee and found some in the lobby of the hotel.  If you are familiar with the Palihouse hotel in Los Angeles, you will know that the lobby sits about a floor beneath street level and is infused with the loveliest first light.  And so, with coffee in hand, I found a corner with the perfect combination of light and shadow and began my task.  In due course, the article  was written, the coffee consumed and I was filled not only with a sense of accomplishment, but that nice relaxed feeling you get sitting in a sunny corner of your own home.
