Singapore: Durian

Durian is “the King of Fruits” – Distinctive for its size and odor. It is clearly a love/hate relationship. Some people LOVE it while others don’t. It inspires great passion – and , apparently , architecture. Unique to Singapore and Malaysia it is a part of Steve and Mikki’s childhood. I was a game and willing participant in the experience and I found it to be the most exotic food I have ever eaten. Must say, it was an unusual taste..  I am a bigger fan of the Mangosteen.  Also quite rare but less fragrant and very sweet.  So we sat and Mikki and Steve ate Durian and I, mangosteen.
