Shanghai: Dunhill – a view of the Garden

I turned the doorknob not knowing whether it would work or not.  Enveloped I was by the warmth and comfort of the surroundings but longing to explore the gardens and the house. As I stepped out on the porch I was pleased that I had taken the chance.  A moment of stillness in the otherwise hectic days.  Still and peaceful; finally, blissfully quiet and alone.  In a corner of the garden stood a tulip magnolia, leafless yet full with blossoms.   The rattan chair inviting,  and on another day, at a different time, I would have considered sitting and reflecting on the beauty that surrounded me.  This was not that day, and so, with a deep sigh, I turned and went inside.

It is one of the most beautiful stores I have ever seen.
