Special Dinners with Faraway Friends

In mid July our friend SW came for a visit from Singapore. I always look forward to seeing him. We spend time chatting about photography and discussing his family. One of my favorite evenings was simply sitting in the kitchen pouring over photography books and chatting about how the images had been taken. He is so knowledgeable and has taught me so much about shooting and about friendship.

One evening he made us a special dish indigenous to his part of the world. It was delicious and involved ingredients that I can’t remember having – much less shopping for. The trip to the Asian grocery store was filled with all sorts of delicacies one just doesn’t see at Whole Foods.

We were there to celebrate our friend KC getting his new place. It The evening was relaxed and easy – as it always is – regaling each other with stories. It was great to see SW – so far from home – having such a good time.
