I needed to run to the grocery store. I love Trader Joe’s. Especially when, in Laguna, it involves a drive along the coastline. So, I threw my tripod and camera in the car with the hopes that I might catch a beautiful sunset. The Santa Ana’s had been blowing all day and the sky sparkled. As I approached Crystal Cove the sun began to duck behind some clouds; clouds that intimated the Santa Ana’s were nearing an end. Hopes dashed I climbed into the car and headed home. I pulled into Wood’s Cove on the chance that the evening sky wouldn’t disappoint – and it didn’t. All shades of blue with the light of a new moon. It begged the question – “why live anywhere else” when a mundane trip to the grocery store can deliver such an exquisite moment.
