Chateau of Ancy Le Franc

This was one of my favorite moments of the trip.

The Chateau d’Ancy le Franc began construction in 1544 and finished 6 years later.  It is recognized as one of the sites where the Italian Renaissance was introduced to France. It is a beautifully grand and stately home.  The interior is being painstakingly restored and inside one will find an array of beautiful frescoes. The grounds are lovely, with a small building on an island in the small lake that wreaks of romance.

While standing in front taking a shot as we left the chateau, my adorable niece sent a text asking for an update on the trip and what we were doing.  Snapping a photo with my iPhone, I sent the response that we were buying a house.  Giggling to myself, I waited for her reply.  It was a perfect delight of belief, and then chagrin.  All done in good fun…  After all, what are Tia’s for but to give an occasional tease.
