The beauty of a great tavern is the heartiness of the food and the warmth of the host and hostess. To have a quiet table where you can share the antics of a day or your deepest thoughts. After a week of work and daily decisions, it is so nice just to sit idly and converse. Such was the case on a Saturday evening after meetings and shopping all day that I found myself sitting at a table for two with a dear friend at Newman Street Tavern. It was recommended to us MQ – who happens to be one of the über coolest people I have ever met. Slabs of country pâté, glasses of red wine, hearty dinner fare and a dessert menu that included loads of dark chocolate candy bars from which to choose. Perfection. And to top it all off, back to the hotel by 8 pm with time for a walk and a good night’s sleep.
