The beach in Huntington is so different from Laguna. It is a long sloping beach vs. the fast drop rocky coastline that is Laguna, with beautiful wide beaches open to tourists and residents looking for a day at the beach. Firepits pepper the sand from the Newport end up to the pier along with volleyball courts. On this day, Long Beach State was playing a tournament with another school and we stopped to watch for a few moments while I snapped some shots. Since it was a weekday – despite it being Spring Break – big stretches of the beach were empty and in the distance the Lifeguard stand seemed like miniatures peppered along the wall separating the trail from the sand.
