Laguna differs from the beaches to the immediate North and South. It is a rugged and rocky coastline filled with private coves and beaches that locals frequent. They are beaches pristine in their beauty and without the comforts of the state beaches – in other words, no bathrooms or food stalls. They are best visited early in the morning as the sun rises over the hillside and washes the beach in a light and shadow – a photographers dream. And so it was this morning as I made my way from Moss point, to Woods Cove visiting each cove that I discovered other locals with the same ritual. Standing and looking out to sea, with coffee in hand, relishing the beginning of another day.
