I can’t go visit my parents without stopping by one of my favorite spots – Terrain and on this day I was meeting a friend I hadn’t seen in just over a year. It was a lovely break and reconnected us and me to how much I admire and enjoy her smarts and sense of humor. We caught up over a delicious lunch and then split to go off and wander the shop. Mother’s Day looming, I wanted to give my Mom the gift of a garden. She loves flowers and gardening and while at her home, I realized that the many demands on her life had left her little time to pursue her hobbies. Shopping Terrain for pots and plants, I hoped, would occupy her heart and hands. While walking around I happened on a little bit of Denmark right in the middle of the store. It seemed the perfect convergence of then and now – just like lunch. As I closed out my transactions and looked to leave, I went in search of BC. There she was, right in the middle of the nursery, doing her thing as only she can. As I said goodbye I promised myself that with each visit I need to make every effort to include time with her in my plans.
