I’ve driven by the Promenade Plantee in Paris dozens of times. Elevated above the arches I often wondered what was up there. And it was only as I researched the High Line in New York that I realized the greenbelt I had looked at from the car window was in fact the inspiration for the stretch of greenbelt that runs from 30th to Gansevoort Street. I have enjoyed the High Line since it was completed and love strolling along the nearly 1.5 miles, watching the people and enjoying the day. This particular day was beyond spectacular. During the summer the city empties as New Yorkers scurry to the Hamptons and the country. It is my favorite time to be in the city. It reminds me of that memorable summer CF and I lived there and how we started our life together in that tiny flat.
