For the many faults with which Dallas is credited, I have to confess that I really enjoy shooting here. The skyline is like Oz. And the city is dynamic in all it has to offer from urban landscapes to manicured properties. There is a mix of architecture and the people are interesting. The sky was just dark – and a bit boring in its lack of shapes – but the ground was reflective from a continuous rain. It was the perfect morning to sleep in, and then to go shooting. I had rented the Leica Monochrome – a trick I learned from my friend TJ – and wanted to see how it performed. I shot handheld and with a tripod and have been pretty pleased with the results. I will over the coming weeks spend more time developing the photos that follow over the next few days, and will print some. These were taken with the monochrome and a 35mm summilux lens.
