Adirondack chairs are inviting. When I see them I think of porches. Our first house had a big wide porch that faced the curb and ran the length of the house. I remember when we bought it, to accommodate the owners who were expecting a baby, we waited 6 months to take possession. On the weekends, we would pile into our car and drive to the neighborhood and make a couple passes by the house. We would plot and dream excited in having our first house together. After moving in we approached that outside porch like another living room with comfy chairs and baskets filled with plants and flowers. I still think of it fondly. The furniture was constructed of twigs and always made me think of my time in Virginia. Whenever I see Adirondack chairs, even though we didn’t have any, I think of that porch and the two of us sitting there enjoying our house and the neighborhood.
